Major League Baseball announced Roberto Clemente Award nominees Monday morning and Patrick Wisdom serves as the Cubs’ choice.

Each team nominates a player that “best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field.”

Wisdom is a first-time nominee; Marcus Stroman was the Cubs’ nominee in 2023.

The Cubs slugger has been an advocate for pediatric cancer throughout his career, serving as a regional St. Jude ambassador and raising funds to help cover costs for families.

Wisdom also volunteers through Adam Wainwright’s Big League Impact MISSION 3:18 Initiative and is very active in supporting Cubs Charities.

The league-wide Roberto Clemente Award winner will be announced at the 2024 World Series.
