Robbie Gould highlights 3 Bears stars from Week 3 loss to Colts
Despite the Bears’ roadblocks and setbacks evident in their Week 3 loss to the Colts (1-2), Robbie Gould is still looking on the bright side.
“To me, there was some good,” Gould said on Bears Den Tuesday on Marquee Sports Network.
Gould handed out 3 stars to the Bears roster after the Week 3 game:
Caleb Williams
Despite throwing the ball a whopping 52 times in Sunday’s game, Caleb Williams was still a shining star for the Bears’ offense. Williams completed 33 of those 52 passes for a total of 363 passing yards, the most by a Bears rookie quarterback since 1970.
“Caleb looked more poised. I loved how they took shots down the field coming out of timeouts … I thought they did a really nice job of taking some opportunities down the field to open up some of the run game, but to me, I was really excited about what Caleb did,” Gould said.

Cole Kmet and Rome Odunze
Both Kmet and Odunze had career days on Sunday.
Kmet matched his career-high with 10 catches for 97 yards, and Odunze recorded 6 catches for 112 yards, the best game of his young career. This was the first time two Bears players have recorded 95+ receiving yards each since Darnell Mooney and Marquise Goodwin in 2021.
“I wanted to see them get the ball in their hands and do what they do best … that’s a positive takeaway to me,” Gould said.

Tremaine Edmunds
In Week 3, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds turned heads once again on the defensive end.
He recorded 5 tackles and 1 INT. Edmunds’ 5 interceptions since the start of the 2023 season is the most amongst NFL linebackers.
“This is a Super Bowl-contending defense … but [Edmunds] is really the heart and soul of this defense,” Gould said.
