Shota Imanaga sums up All-Star experience: ‘It felt like I was floating’

Shota Imanaga represented the Cubs well Tuesday night, tossing a perfect 4th inning in relief for the National League.
He needed 15 pitches to dispatch Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Adley Rutschman and Marcus Semien – getting a groundout, strikeout and lineout in order.

Imanaga summed up his overall All-Star experience in an extremely positive light.
“It kinda felt like I was floating,” Imanaga told reporters through interpreter Edwin Stanberry. “It felt like I was in a dream.”
Imanaga shared the story behind his new walk-out song, why he was jealous of Shohei Ohtani and much more.
He also explained what emotions went through him as he faced 3 of the American League’s best hitters.
“I will say when I’m on the mound pitching, I’m just focused,” Imanaga said. “I’m not really having fun. It’s something that after I leave the mound, something I feel later. But having to face a great offense, just getting that opportunity, it was amazing.”
