Stephen Colbert had quite the adventure at Wrigley Field

3 weeks agoTony Andracki

Stephen Colbert and “The Late Show” descended upon Wrigley Field during the last homestand, enjoying a beautiful summer Friday afternoon.

The talk show host had quite the adventure as the Cubs beat the Blue Jays 6-5.

In addition to singing the “Seventh Inning Stretch,” Colbert interacted with Cubs players as well as fans around the Friendly Confines.

Interactions include:

—Asking Jameson Taillon which city has better pizza: New York or Chicago (Taillon chose New York, surprisingly)

—Asking Nico Hoerner about his relationship status

—Cracking Ian Happ’s back…and giving out quite the compliment on the Cubs left fielder’s physical appearance

—Consuming beer bats in a trip to the bleachers

—Handing out signed Cubs baseball cards…though they were signed by actor Walton Goggins, not Cubs players

—Lowering a hot dog and a “beer” down to fans on Waveland Ave. from the top of the bleachers

—Learning how to sing from Chicago native Jennifer Hudson

And, of course, a trip to the iconic scoreboard in center field where he made Darryl – the scoreboard operater – very uncomfortable…
