What Bears inactives list means to Thanksgiving game vs. Lions
DETROIT — There were few surprises on the Bears inactives list heading into their Week 13 contest, which will be played on Thursday against the Detroit Lions
We already knew that safety Elijah Hicks and interior offensive lineman Ryan Bates were ruled out of this game on the team’s official injury report and have now missed two games after both guys got hurt in a Week 11 loss to Green Bay.

Offensive lineman Kiran Amegadjie hasn’t played since a Week 8 contest at Washington, though he has been dealing with a calf injury for some time. He wasn’t included on estimated practice reports — the Bears only conducted walk-throughs this week — meaning he’s technically a healthy scratch. Even if he’s physically okay, the rookie has been out a long time after missing most of camp, he’ll need some time to get reacclimated and develop a bit. That’s easier with the Bears relatively healthy at the tackle spot, meaning they don’t have to force Amegadjie into action.
Jonathan Owens will start at safety alongside Kevin Byard III. Jake Curhan and Doug Kramer Jr. will be reserve options at the guard spot.
