What Matt Eberflus said in statement after Bears let him go

Matt Eberflus conducted his final press conference as Bears head coach on Friday morning, just a few hours before he got fired. That was surely a disappointing turn for the defensive-minded head coach, but one GM Ryan Poles and team president felt had to be made after a six-game losing streak during which he lost the locker room.

Thomas Brown was promoted to Bears interim HC in his stead.

Despite the unwelcome result of being let go, Eberflus issued a statement thanking the organization on Saturday morning that was made public by CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones.
