Will this be the most anticipated series between the Cubs and White Sox?
In this new season, the Cubs will face off against the NL and AL Central and will be facing their rivals from the South Side this season. Bruce Levine, Elise Menaker and Brett Taylor, editor from Bleacher Nation, join host Cole Wright on Cubs 360 Daily to answer the Miller Lite Refreshing Take on whether this year is the most anticipated year of the Crosstown Series.
Levine believed that the anticipation between the AL Central and the NL Central would intensify.
“There will be a stronger concentration on the fact that these games are so important. Every one game equals three right now compared to other schedules,” Levine said. “There will be some intensity with the White Sox and Cubs because the schedule is so short and every game is going to be really important.”
Taylor was pretty excited with the Cubs and White Sox playing six games out of 60 games in this season.
“Ten-percent of their schedule is going to be this crosstown rivalry and that gets me pretty jacked up because you’re talking about an equivalent of 16 games over a 162 game season. That’s almost as much as you would play your division rivals in a regular year,” Taylor said. “I do feel that intensity is going to be felt a little bit more particularly in a year where people have become so hungry for baseball and there was already anticipation for both of these teams.”
