Michael Busch waved off Kyle Hendricks and took it himself, trotting to first base to retire Santiago Espinal on a groundout to begin the 8th inning.
Cheers rang out from the 38,180 fans at Wrigley Field for the out but the ovation grew as Cubs pitching coach Tommy Hottovy slowly walked to the mound.
Eventually, the cheers became deafening as the Cubs infielders spurred the crowd on, showering Hendricks with appreciation.

It was a powerful moment at Wrigley Field, befitting the amazing career Hendricks has had up to this point.
