‘Chris & Tell’ episode 8: Dan Hampton

Hampton played 12 seasons with the Bears from 1979-1990, winning a Super Bowl with the team in 1985. A four-time Pro Bowler, Hampton was voted to the 1979 All-Rookie team and 1984 All-Pro first team. Hampton was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2002 and currently covers the Bears on WGN Radio.

Hampton and Myers discuss memories from the 1985 team and the relationship between Mike Ditka and Buddy Ryan, along with the expectations for 2021 Bears first round pick Justin Fields and the impact that ALS has had on Hampton’s former teammate and friend, Steve “Mongo” McMichael.

He is the host of Chris & Tell presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, airing on Marquee Sports Network, a half-hour interview show featuring in-depth conversations with sports stars and celebrities. Chris also serves as play-by-play announcer for a select number of Cubs games on Marquee Sports Network and contributes to additional studio programming. Since joining Fox Sports in 1998, he has covered the World Series and Super Bowl, and is a regular play-by-play commentator on Fox NFL Sundays. He also contributes to NASCAR on Fox coverage, hosting weekly live coverage from the track.

Prior to joining Fox in 1998, he worked for 11 years at ESPN, serving as an anchor on SportsCenter and the host of the sports interview show Up Close. Myers majored in radio and television at Florida International University and Miami Dade Community College.
