Kris Bryant on his HR ball collection: ‘It’s amazing what baseball has given me’

4 years agoStaff Report

Kris Bryant has been a power hitter crushing home runs in big moments throughout his career. The Cubs third baseman looked back at some of his most memorable home runs on Off The Mound with Ryan Dempster.

Bryant also showed off a blast from the past in his collection from his Little League days.

“This is the first home run in a game at eight years old, eight months and twelve days. That’s my dad for you and it’s dated September 16, 2000,” Bryant said. “My favorite part is I sign my name. I print it out with the big space in between and I’m like ‘What am I doing?’”

Bryant’s next collection of home run balls was his 1st home run at Redbirds practice.

“I played for a team called the Redbirds. You couldn’t be called the Cardinals because I think you had to get permission. It was from August 12th, 2000,” Bryant said. “It also says I was 4’8” tall and 74 pounds with the Kris Bryant signature with the big space.”

Bryant is amazed at all the items he has collected over a long period of playing baseball.

“It’s so funny how much stuff you accumulate over playing baseball for 25 years. I can go through my closet here and be like ‘Where did I get this from?’ and it turns out to be something meaningful to me,” Bryant said. “It’s amazing what baseball has given me.”
