Bears activate two players off injured reserve
WASHINGTON — The Bears activated running back Travis Homer and defensive lineman Jacob Martin off injured reserve, the team announced on Saturday afternoon.
These transactions represent corresponding moves to Friday’s decision to waive Velus Jones Jr. and release Kari Blasingame.
Martin has been on IR since the season began due to a toe injury that kept him out for an extended stretch of the preseason. Homer was placed on injured reserve on Sept. 22 with a finger injury that required surgery.

Both players were in the team’s 2024 plans, and having them back will be a bonus. Martin will provide depth off the edge and Homer can be a bruising short-yardage back and is a quality pass protector. Martin and Homer will also help out on special teams.
They will be able to play Sunday’s game against the host Washington Commanders. So will defensive back Tarvarius Moore, who was designated as a practice squad elevation. Hell off injury protection at safety with Jaquan Brisker out and Elijah Hicks now in a starting role.
