Cubs 360 Daily: George F. Will gives his perspective on 2016 run
Washington Post columnist and lifelong Cubs fan George F. Will joined Cole Wright, Len Kasper and Bruce Levine on Cubs 360 Daily, presented by Miller Lite. As a lifelong Cubs fan, Will gave his perspective on what the 2016 World Series Championship meant to him.
“In 2016, I instantly had an answer to a question I had been asked: ‘What will it be like if you win? Will the spell be broken and you won’t care that much anymore?’ No. I wanted to win in 2017…2016 was immensely satisfying…That was fun. Let’s do it again.”
Will also went on to compare what a championship for the Cubs is like compared to the Nationals World Series win in 2019.
“Weening the people away from the affection they brought with them from elsewhere has required work to develop the habit of baseball. I think it’s worked…This is becoming a baseball town.”
