Roster moves: Andrew Billings among two Bears placed on injured reserve
LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bears have placed defensive tackle Andrew Billings and defensive back Jaylon Jones on injured reserve, the team announced on Thursday afternoon.
Adding Billings to IR was expected after he had surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle. While head coach Matt Eberflus wouldn’t declare him out for the season, it seems highly likely that his 2024 campaign is over.
Montez Sweat said on Thursday that Billings texted him and said his pectoral surgery went well and that he’s “ready to attack the rehab.”

Jones injured his shoulder in the Week 9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, though the severity of his injury is unknown. He’ll be on IR for a minimum of four weeks before being eligible to return.
The Bears also promoted defensive back Tarvarius Moore to the active roster from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots at Soldier Field. They also added defensive back JT Woods to the practice squad.
The Bears have an open roster spot, which could be filled by interior offensive lineman Ryan Bates if he’s deemed ready to return off injured reserve.
