NFL mock draft 2025: Bears swing big, take Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty
NFL mock draft interest starts almost immediately after the last one concludes and carries on for a long time without playing with a full deck. First it’s the lack of a true draft order. Once that gets worked out, there’s more trouble with the process because there’s so much player turnover before the draft even arrives.
There’s plenty of buzz coming out of the NFL Scouting Combine that forms another wave of NFL mock draft submissions, even with free agency on the horizon. This week has been proof of that, with so many stars requesting trades and a few more actually getting moved. The Bears were a central figure in all that, adding top guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson.

That means the tackle-who-can-slide-to-guard type frequently associated with the Bears at No. 10 overall seems like less of a priority. So will additions made in free agency, whether it’s along the defensive interior, off the edge or a center. There’s more information to be gathered is my point, but folks love a mock draft. So here’s another one, getting to Chicago’s selection at No. 10 overall. We’ll do seven-rounders soon enough and full mocks after free agency, but here’s a new direction I think Ryan Poles and Ben Johnson could go in the first round.
1. Tennessee Titans: EDGE Abdul Carter, Penn State
- The Titans need a quarterback. There’s little doubt about that, yet Tennessee is a ways away and must add talent over need.
2. Cleveland Browns: QB Cam Ward, Miami
- Kirk Cousins sounds like a way to get better faster, but the Browns need a good QB on a rookie contract while DeShaun Watson’s weighing on the cap. Cam Ward can be that guy.
3. New York Giants: CB/WR Travis Hunter, Colorado
- We’re betting the Giants add a veteran quarterback next week, allowing them to take maybe the best player in the draft who could star at two positions.
4. New England Patriots: OL Armand Membou, Missouri
- Still think the Patriots go offensive line, but a number of top draft analysts have moved Membou way up their draft boards. And he’s a big dude with offensive tackle length. That’ll help him here.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars: WR Tetairoa McMillian, Arizona
- This may be reactionary, but the Jags just traded Christian Kirk on Thursday. They could swing for another top receiver (outside Brian Thomas) on a rookie deal and get their offense going again.
6. Las Vegas Raiders: QB Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
- Just can’t see the Colorado product tumbling too far, and I’d bet Pete Carroll believes he can get quality out of a young passing talent.
7. New York Jets: OL Will Campbell, LSU
- Offensive line’s the play for a new Jets GM and head coach, as they try to build the team the right way, adding to the front first.
8. Carolina Panthers: EDGE Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M
- This could be another overreaction to excellent combine testing, but Stewart is a straight up athlete. Not tons of numbers, but Carolina goes pure talent of stats here.
9. New Orleans Saints: TE Tyler Warren, Penn State
- The Saints need playmakers, instant impact guys who can help them produce while in the salary-cap mess their most always in.
10. Chicago Bears: RB Ashton Jeanty, Boise State
- Things are setting up for the Bears to make a bold move at No. 10. They’ve got two top veteran guards. They’re relatively settled at tackle. And they’ve got a super-talent quarterback. Here’s predicting the Bears add a center and an edge rusher or defense tackle in free agency, setting them up to go for Jeanty at No. 10 and get Ben Johnson’s offense revved up fast.
