Alec Mills on preparing for 2020 season

4 years agoMatt Danielewicz

Cubs pitcher Alec Mills joined Bruce Levine and Cole Wright on Cubs 360 Daily to talk about how Mills is preparing for the 2020 season and what his role will be on the roster.

Mills understands the unknown territory of the situation that the world is experiencing and understands he has to do what he can to stay ready.

“I’m throwing into a net pretty much every day and then getting what I can done workout wise,” Mills said. “[I keep] doing what I need to do to stay in shape, but I’ll be ready to go.”

During spring training prior to March 12th, Mills was competing with Tyler Chatwood for the fifth spot in the starting rotation. Mills also was making strides to having a roster spot on the Chicago Cubs.

“I was enjoying the competition that was going on. Chatwood was pitching very well and was definitely earning his spot,” Mills said. “Hopefully, I’d like to think that my past work will have a lot to do with the decision. Being able to come in and be ready to go is something that I always pride myself on. Hopefully I can do that and be ready to go.”
