Chicago Red Stars re-sign Chicagoland native to short-term contract

The Chicago Red Stars brought back forward and Chicagoland native Sarah Griffith on a short-term contract through June of 2025.
Griffith was drafted by her hometown club back in 2022. In her three seasons with the club, she has started 12 games and has recorded two goals and three assists. She made 6 regular-season appearances for Chicago in 2023 and played in 260 minutes.
Last season, Griffith recorded three starts and an assist in seven appearances in the regular season, while leading the team with a 91.67 percent passing accuracy in the final third of the season. Her contract keeps her with the Red Stars through the first half of the 2025 NWSL regular season.
The Purdue University alum recorded multiple program records including goals in a season, consecutive games with a goal, shots on goal and game-winning goals in a season.
The Red Stars begin the 2025 NWSL season in March.
