Cubs face Twins at Wrigley Field
The Cubs will have Alec Mills on the mound tonight against the Twins as they go for their sixth win in a row on Marquee Sports Network. Mills, who tossed the 16th no-hitter in team history in his last start, attempts to continue the magic from Milwaukee in his final home start of the regular season. Get ready for the game at 6 p.m. with Cubs Live!
Johnny Vander Meer is the only player in MLB history to pitch consecutive no-hitters, a feat Mills will have an opportunity to match tonight at Wrigley Field. Vander Meer threw his first no-hitter for the Cincinnati Reds against the Boston Bees on June 11, 1938. He matched the achievement only four days later against the Brooklyn Dodgers when Leo Derocher’s fly ball landed in Harry Craft’s glove for the final out. It was the first night game at Ebbets Field.
Be sure to stay in your seat after the final out for Cubs Postgame Live!, featuring highlights, analysis and postgame press conferences with David Ross and Cubs players.
