Kris Bryant had some unexpected free time with his young son over the weekend.

Having missed Saturday and Sunday’s games against the Pirates due to a stomach bug, Bryant spent the time off with Kyler Lee and made him a promise.

“Actually, before I left, obviously he doesn’t understand anything I say, but I told him I was gonna hit a home run,” Bryant told Taylor McGregor in a post-game interview on Marquee Sports Network.

It’s the first time Bryant has made that kind of promise and actually been able to fulfill it.

“First time I’ve done that to, really anybody in my life,” Bryant said. “Maybe I should keep doing that.”
