Ross takes a step back to ‘enjoy what I get to do’
With baseball back in full swing, sometimes it’s the small things that stand out. After Saturday’s scrimmage, Cubs manager David Ross took some time to capture a moment on the field.
“It was just such a pretty day,” Ross said. “Fourth of July; we had the flag up there, flying high. I [took a picture] of the scoreboard and the American flag just for my own keepsakes…Everybody was gone. Just finished a workout and had a minute. It just looked cool.”

Ross said that he learned lessons early on in his baseball career to appreciate the little moments that come along with playing America’s pastime.
“Just taking a minute, trying to enjoy what I get to do, what this whole process is,” Ross said.
