Virtual Cubs finish series with win on Mother’s Day

3 years agoStaff Report

The virtual Cubs snapped a six-game losing streak in the series finale against the Nationals with a 2-0 win on Mother’s Day.

Both runs for the Cubs came from solo shots. Ian Happ smacked one in the bottom of the 3rd inning to give the Cubs the 1-0 lead. Javier Báez added some insurance in the 6th inning for the Cubs to take a 2-0 lead.

Kyle Hendricks struck out four in 6.2 innings of work. Craig Kimbrel earned the save.

The Cubs now welcome in the Brewers for a three game series. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday afternoon on our Facebook page.
