Chicago Sky acquire Ariel Atkins, send No. 3 pick in trade with Washington Mystics

The Chicago Sky continue to add veteran guard depth by sending the No. 3 draft pick, 2027 first-round pick swap, and 2027 second-round pick to the Washington Mystics in exchange for Ariel Atkins.
Atkins averaged 14.9 points, 3.1 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 2024 for the Mystics. Her career numbers show the same level of production, shooting 42.3% from the floor and 36.2% from the arc.
The 2-time WNBA All-Star shooting guard rounds out a veteran guard group after the additions of Courtney Vandersloot, Kia Nurse and Rebecca Allen earlier in February.
The Chicago Sky now only have one first round pick at the No. 10 spot and two second picks at No. 16 & No. 22 for the 2025 WNBA Draft.
As of Feb. 22, the Sky roster has 10 players: Atkins, Vandersloot, Nurse, Allen, Michaela Onyenwere, Angel Reese, Kamilla Cardoso, Rachel Banham, Moriah Jefferson and Elizabeth Williams.
