In the post, Vandersloot thanks Chicago fans and Sky ownership for the 12 years spent in the Windy City, including bringing a title in 2021.

“Although I never planned for this day to come, I have decided that it is time for me to pursue a new beginning,” Vandersloot posted. “As I look ahead to a new chapter, with a new team, in a new city, know that Chicago, its fans and the Sky organization will always hold a special place in my heart.”

Vandersloot led the Sky in 2022 with 6.5 assists a game while chipping in 11.8 points and 1.2 steals on average throughout the regular season. Throughout her career, she averaged 10.3 points, 6.7 assists and 1.3 steals.

She holds the Sky record for most games played (358), assists (2,387) and steals (457) while ranking 2nd in franchise history in total points behind Quigley with 3,671.

Vandersloot has a long list of league accolades, including 4-time WNBA All-Star, All-Rookie, 5-time All-WNBA team, 6-time WNBA assists leader and 2021 WNBA Champion to just name a few over her 12-year career with the Chicago Sky.
