Dana Evans attacking 3rd WNBA season with growing confidence

10 months agoElena Shklyar

Following the conclusion of her second season in the WNBA, Dana Evans went to play overseas with one main focus on her mind before coming back to join the Sky.

“I wanted to go and get my confidence back,” Evans said.

“I think coming in, as a rookie, as a young buck, it’s hard to have your confidence and just be you. For me, I wanted to go overseas, be me, find myself again and build off of that. I kind of worked on everything so I could bring it here because I am ready to play and I am ready to be a factor.”

Evans doesn’t want her impact to stop at just how she plays on the basketball court though. She is using her platform to help grow the game of basketball in her hometown of Gary, Indiana through her own personal camp, the Dana Evans Elite basketball camp.

“Giving back, that’s something that I love to do and I always wanted to do and I dreamed of,” Evans said. “Being able to give back to those young girls that are looking up to me.”

“I remember when I was young, I didn’t go to a ton of camps but if I was to see a WNBA player come from my hometown and have a camp, I would have been in awe. Doing that for those younger players, so they have somebody to look up to.”
