Free agent Courtney Vandersloot expected to sign with Chicago Sky

The Chicago Sky are reportedly bringing back a familiar face with the signing of free agent guard Courtney Vandersloot.
Vandersloot in an easy way confirmed the move with the changing of her Instagram bio.

Vandersloot finished in the top 10 in the WNBA last season with her 4.8 assists per game with the reigning WNBA champions, the New York Liberty. The Sky’s all-time assist leader coming back to Chicago brings a veteran presence in the back court for new head coach Tyler Marsh to rely on in his first year at the helm.
Vandersloot’s numbers in 2024 don’t showcase what she can do, seeing that she averaged only 6.4 points a game over 22.3 minutes. Sky fans and the front office know what her assist abilities can do in helping develop Angel Reese, Kamilla Cardoso and any future draft picks the Sky may have.
Her overall career numbers over 12 years show a point guard who knows how to find shooters in about any system while also finding ways to contribute offensively with her averaging 10.0 points and 6.7 assists per game. She also knows what it takes to win a title, doing it twice: in Chicago in 2021 and in New York.
Regardless of whether or not her wife and former Sky player Allie Quigley will join her on the floor again and come back to the Windy City, Vandersloot’s veteran presence on this youthful Sky team will be an asset in player development for 2025 and beyond.
