Hailey Van Lith’s boyfriend, Jalen Suggs, details Sky pick’s competitive fire
Orlando Magic guard Jalen Suggs is sidelined from NBA action, but knee surgery recovery didn’t stop him from supporting his girlfriend, Hailey Van Lith, on Monday night at the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Suggs asserted that Van Lith takes competition seriously, whether it’s on or off the court.
“We’ll go play bowling, card games, board games, puzzles, whatever — she’s talking smack to me,” Suggs told Rooks. “I feel bad for the girls that actually have to play against her.”
Van Lith’s final college season as a fifth-year transfer at TCU was her best, as she started a career-high 38 games and led the Horned Frogs to a program-record 34 wins. She averaged 18 points per game in the NCAA Tournament as TCU made the Elite Eight for the first time, and she earned Big 12 Player of the Year honors and a spot on The Associated Press’ All-America third team.

Suggs previously went viral during TCU’s Sweet Sixteen matchup against Notre Dame for celebrating a Van Lith 3-pointer with her dad, complete with a chest bump.
“(She) helps me grow, as a person and as a player,” Suggs said. “Being able to be close to her along her journey, especially as she gets competitive and gets out on the court, it’s been special.”
