Sky acquire Lynx’s 2025 first-round pick in WNBA draft eve trade

The Chicago Sky announced an important trade Sunday, less than 24 hours before the 2025 WNBA Draft.
The Sky acquired the No. 11 overall pick from the Lynx in exchange for extinguishing Minnesota’s right to swap their own 2026 draft choice. The Lynx now own the Sky’s 2026 first-round draft pick.
The right to swap picks was part of the trade package the Sky sent the Lynx to draft Angel Reese No. 7 overall last year.
“We believe the 2025 draft class is deep, and we’re excited about the flexibility we obtain by acquiring another first-round pick this year,” Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca said in a statement released by the team. “The No. 11 pick represents another route to improve our roster.”
The Sky now own four picks in the 2025 WNBA Draft: Nos. 10 and No. 11 in the first round, and Nos. 16 and 22. They don’t have a third-round selection.
