Chicago Sky will host Indiana Fever games at United Center

The Chicago Sky announced on Friday that both home games slated against the Indiana Fever will be played at the United Center, marking these as the first-ever WNBA games to be played at the arena.

The game originally set for July 26 will now be played on Sunday, July 27 at 2 p.m. The game set for June 7 will remain on the same date with a tip time of 7 p.m.

“Given the explosive growth in the WNBA, we now have a first-ever opportunity to invite more fans to experience this matchup at a larger venue of the United Center,” Sky president and CEO Adam Fox, said in a statement. “Chicago Sky fans have consistently shown up for the team and the city, and we want to reward their passion and dedication by bringing this excitement to an expanded capacity. We know Skytown will help us create a special environment at the United Center this summer. We want to thank the United Center and MPEA for their partnership to bring the WNBA to more fans, and Wintrust Arena for their continued support of the Sky.”

With the capacity of 20,000, the Sky have the opportunity to set a franchise record-setting home crowd. The largest single game attendance for the Sky was in 2016 in front of 16,444 fans at Allstate Arena.

The Sky will play two preseason games against the Minnesota Lynx as well as a preseason game against the Brazilian National Team at LSU on May 2.

The Chicago Sky regular season will tip off against the Indiana Fever in Indianapolis on May 17 at 12 p.m. The 2025 home opener is set for May 22 against the New York Liberty at 7 p.m.
