The Sky have added another piece to their roster puzzle with the expected signing and return of forward Michaela Onyenwere.

This will be Onyenwere’s first time in her career since her rookie season where she’s staying with the same team. 

In her one season with Chicago, her stats showcase a forward with complete versatility to play about any position. She didn’t get many minutes to start the season, but when she did, she contributed across the stat sheet.

She averaged 6.6 points while shooting 41.5% from the floor in 2024. Her 3-point percentage was 3rd overall on the team, shooting 36.8% on the year. As a wing, she contributed with 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.

Onyenwere spent a majority of the offseason here in Chicago with teammates Rachel Banham, Moriah Jefferson and Elizabeth Williams. She’s also hit the gym with them and new head coach Tyler Marsh as a way to get chemistry and development going early before training camp begins in April.

The Chicago Sky roster now has Onyenwere, Banham, Jefferson, Williams, Angel Reese, Kamilla Cardoso and recently signed guard Courtney Vandersloot.
