Sky acquire Rebecca Allen in trade with Sun

11 months agoKarli Bell

The Chicago Sky facilitated a trade with the Connecticut Sun to send guard Lindsay Allen and the rights of Nikolina Milić in return for guard Rebecca Allen.

Rebecca Allen was recently traded over to the Sun as a part of the Alyssa Thomas trade; the Phoenix Mercury traded Allen, Natasha Cloud and the No. 12 overall pick in return for Thomas and Ty Harris.

Allen played in 18 games for the Mercury in 2024, averaging 7.4 points and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 42.1% from the floor and 35.7% from the arc. She suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Australia in the Paris Olympics that sidelined her for the rest of the season.

Her career numbers show a veteran presence that contributes across the stat sheet. Allen spent the majority of her career in New York before being traded to Connecticut in 2023 and then to Phoenix in 2024.

She has length that provides positional size at the wing and has a hot hand at the 3-point line with a career average of 36.3%. She hits the glass with a 2.7 rebound average and has a presence defensively with just under a block and a steal per game.

This is the second veteran addition after the signing of Courtney Vandersloot in free agency. This brings the roster up to 8 with Allen, Vandersloot, Michaela Onyenwere, Angel Reese, Kamilla Cardoso, Elizabeth Williams, Rachel Banham and Moriah Jefferson.
